Nauti or Nice: Southern Christmas Show Returns
The 56th Annual Southern Christmas Show, the largest holiday show in North America, returns to Charlotte Thursday, Nov. 9, through Sunday, Nov. 19, featuring more than 400 holiday vendors showcasing the latest gifts, treats, holiday décor, gourmet goodies and much more.
Hosted by Marketplace Events, the show will be held at The Park Expo and Conference Center, located at 800 Briar Creek Road in Charlotte. Guests can take a stroll down Christmas Tree Lane, explore enchanting Olde Towne Village and get inspired by the dazzling designer rooms decked out in unique nautical Christmas décor featuring both indoor and outdoor living spaces. Attendees will hear the festive sounds of the season from the LeafFilter Holiday Entertainment Stage and get to share their holiday wishes with the big man himself, Santa Claus. An unparalleled holiday shopping experience, the show is the equivalent of more than 11 football fields of shopping, including custom products with more than a third of the show filled with one-of-a-kind handcrafted treasures. Buoys, boats, and a beach – oh my! With the theme of “Nauti or Nice,” this year’s show takes you on an escape to the rocky shores of the Northeast. The nautical-inspired entrance will be filled with coastal Christmas cheer. Welcome to our version of seaside Maine at Christmastime. Capture festive photo memories and strike a pose at the all-new official selfie spot sponsored by Catawba Two Kings Casino. While you paparazzi it up, register to win Christmas Cash to shop the show. Catawba Two Kings Casino will be giving out $25 Visa gift cards at the top of every hour throughout the show.
Ready to deck the halls? Christmas Tree Lane, featuring freshly cut trees from the North Carolina mountains and the festive mantels, doors and wreaths provide a one-stop shop with ideas to make your home shine this holiday season. The holiday décor competition is presented by Universal Windows Direct.
Attendees can also take in the intricate designs and precise movements of the model train exhibit. Don’t miss out on the fun scavenger hunt that will allow you to delight in each distinctive detail of the model train village, sponsored by Door Systems, part of ASSA ABLOY. All the Nauti or Nice boys and girls can take their holiday wishes to St. Nick himself. Proceeds from photos with Santa benefit the Shriners Hospitals for Children. Delight your tastebuds at this year’s Wine Pavilion, sponsored by Green Exterior Remodeling, featuring a variety of exquisite local wines. Tasty treats including piping hot strudel, melt-in-your mouth cookies, fudge, Bavarian roasted nuts and so much more will also be available at the show.
PREVIEW NIGHT
Guests can get a sneak peek at the show during a special Preview Night on Wednesday, Nov. 8, from 5 to 9 p.m. A portion of each ticket sale on Preview Night will be donated to charity partner The Sandbox, which supports families who have children with cancer or other life-altering illnesses. Preview Night is sponsored by Renewal by Andersen. Attendees will enjoy free parking, plus tasty hors d’oeuvres including lobster deviled eggs, Cheerwine popcorn, smoked salmon mousse cucumber canape, bread pudding bites and gourmet treats as they shop from over a dozen local food partners. The first 250 shoppers will take home this year’s special keepsake ornament. Tickets for Preview Night cost $26 online and at the door.
EARLY BIRD VIP/GIRLS NIGHT OUT
For those who want to beat the crowds and shop before the general public, the Southern Christmas Show will host an Early Bird VIP morning from 8 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11. Tickets for this unique opportunity cost $22 online and at the door, and the first 250 VIP shoppers will also receive a special commemorative ornament. To enhance the shopping experience, there will be limited attendance and during the Early Bird VIP morning, no wagons, strollers or carts will be allowed on the show floor. There will be two entrances for Early Bird VIP ticket holders for faster morning entry.
Want to get the gals together? Join us for Girls Night Out on Friday, Nov. 17, from 4 to 9 p.m. Tickets for Girls Night Out are $11 and only available at the box office.
HOURS AND TICKETS
The Southern Christmas Show will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Sunday through Wednesday and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. On-site parking is $10, and valet parking – sponsored by Joyce Windows, Sunrooms & Baths – can be purchased at the normal entrances to the main parking lot for $20 with cash or credit card. While waiting for your ride, take a load off in Joyce’s Valet Stop Sunroom. Tickets purchased at the door cost $18 for adults and $8 for children ages 6 to 12. Tickets for children 5 and younger are free with a paying adult. Adult tickets can be purchased online now through Nov. 8 on the show’s website for discounted rate of $16, or $18 Nov. 9-19, online tickets sponsored by Craft Body Scan. Guests may also buy tickets at participating Harris Teeter stores for $15.50 with a VIC card starting in October through the end of the show. Group tickets are available for groups of 20 people or more for $14 per person (advance only).
